DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS

The Department of Physics, one of the prominent departments in Dhote Bandhu Science College Gondia, has been effectively functional since the very inception of the college imparting higher education in science to the students of backward region of Gondia and Bhandara districts. Obviously, the department has been developing gradually by scaling new parameters of success attributed with updated infrastructure and well-equipped laboratories accompanied with ICT facilities. Adding golden feathers to its academic profile, Postgraduation (M.Sc. Physics) and recognised centre for research and higher learning have been capaciously introduced to make these coveted ventures available to the local students.

Moreover, the department is blessed with highly qualified and competent faculties headed by Dr. Sushil K. Paliwal. What is to be prominently noted that the department has rich alumni who have stamped their identity in all walks of life by achieving the pinnacle of success.

BEST PRACTICES

1. Workshop On NET/SET Preparation
This activity creates awareness among the students for competitive exams such as
NET/SET. The students are addressed for exam pattern, syllabus of the exam, passing
criterion, reference books. Students are encouraged for participation in such competitive
exams for job opportunities.

INNOVATIVE PRACTICE:
1. Learning Experimental Physics through Exp-EYES
2. Slow and High Learners

advance-slow-learner

For Slow Learners:

Conducted the objective type test for each student and assessed by them on the basis of marks obtained in the examination. (List of attendance sheet is attached with Photos)

In the assessment it is found that the scoring of most students is increased as compare to the previous same type of examination. (Result Sheet is attached) Thus the skill of the students regarding the objective examination was improved due to the classroom practice of students.

For Advanced Learners:

1) The students of advanced learners are practiced them on expEYES science kit regarding the experimental physics and preparation of some model/projects on the basis of electronics. (Photos with list)

2) Each student allotted seminar topic on the basis of new theme i.e. Nobel Prize Winner in Physics for different year. The presentation of each student was conducted on the occasion of celebration of National Science Day – 2018 on 28th Feb., 2018. These presentations are evaluated by the guest Dr. V. R. Chandrayan, MIET. Gondia. (Documents with Photos)

3) Some students are promoted for the submission of proposal for the summer school program
in IUAC New Delhi & NIUS Mumbai. (List of students)
